As part of the documentary that I’m currently filming, myself and the producer decided to fly with Austrian Airlines in order to check out their pre order upgrade meals for economy class passengers. In case you didn’t know the airline offers you the opportunity to pay for and upgrade your inflight meal, I can honestly say it is well worth it. You’ll see why below.

There’s 9 different meal options to choose from ranging from hot and cold breakfast options to kids meals, sushi bento box and many more. The cost of these meals is EUR15.00 per meal, and if you consider what you’re getting for your money they’re definitely well worth it.

Our flight was super quick from Vienna to Zurich, and the airline knew that we were onboard to film my experience with these meals, we received the meals complimentary (Thanks Austrian!) and they will be featured in our upcoming film.

For now I’ll highlight the amazing breakfast that you can get your hands on when flying in economy, for the rest you’ll just have to wait until the documentary is out! 🙂

Firstly I’d like to show you what everyone else received for this 6am departure from Vienna….

Yes that’s a piece of cake, not that there’s anything wrong with that. But wouldn’t you want something like this?

So what’s on the menu? Fresh Fruits, Home Made Muesli, Scrambled Eggs, Crispy Bacon, Sautéed Mushrooms, Sun-ripened Tomatoes, Potatoes, Apricot Jam, Butter, Croissant, Oven Fresh Bread Selection, Fresh Orange Juice.

Hands down the best breakfast I’ve eaten on a plane in a seriously long time, even if it does cost money, it’s well worth it folks and I highly recommend it if you happen to be flying with Austrian in the near future. Don’t take my word for it, see what others said about this meal on Instagram.
