Review: Bangkok Airways Economy Class

Bangkok Airways economy class meal

Bangkok Airways ‘Asia’s Boutique Airline’ believes that all passengers should never fly to their destination on an empty stomach. You probably won’t either; the airline serves some great inflight meal options in economy class even on some of their shortest flights. Here’s a look at what was served recently on a flight that I took from Phuket to Bangkok in economy class.

You can read an updated experience on Bangkok Airways here.

BEFORE THE FLIGHT

Economy class passengers have access to the airlines boutique lounges that offer free wifi along with hot/cold drinks and snacks. This is a great benefit considering that most airlines reserve their inflight lounges for business class or frequent flyer guests.

INFLIGHT

The flight from Phuket to Bangkok would take approximately one hour, so I was expecting to receive snacks such as biscuits, nuts or crisps. However, the service onboard far exceeded my expectations. Firstly the cabin crew offered a refresher towel to everyone followed by a full meal service.

There was no meal choice and my meal consisted of a chicken salad, a Thai side salad, a bread roll, and a banana chocolate sponge cake. The food was tasty and more than enough for a short hop across Thailand.

Once the cabin crew finished the meal service, they offered refills of coffee, tea and a selection of fruit juices. I was quite impressed with the level of service offered considering the flight time.

I would happily fly the airline again and since have, the experience was excellent.
