In December, I flew with SAS from Paris to Stockholm, and a few months later, I flew from Zurich to Stockholm. Both times I was seated in SAS Plus, which is a quasi Euro Business class. I was quite excited to finally check out the cube which launched in May 2017.

On European flights, you can pre-order a meal from a fantastic range of meal concepts including Vegan, Gluten-Free, Pork Free, Kids Meals, Salads, Breakfasts and more.
PARIS TO STOCKHOLM
The cube is sleek and entirely different from any other meal/tray concept in economy or business class. The unboxing is fun, you first open the box, remove the condiments, open the condiments and then add as much as you like to your meal.
The meal was a Veal roast with lentil salad, wheat chanterelle cream and cumin cured red cabbage. The lingonberry and lemon verbena muffin bar was delicious, the meal was fresh and provided a new flavour experience for me. The airline provides additional information to explain the meal, some background of the ingredients used and where the produce comes from.
ZURICH TO STOCKHOLM
On this mid-morning departure, the crew served lunch, which consisted of salmon, shrimps, kale, white beans, rhubarb, cabbage and rainbow trout roe. Condiments included: Algae roasted buckwheat and a raspberry emulsion.
The seafood used on SAS is sustainably farmed, and the airline has created some exciting flavours with various ingredients found all over Scandinavia. There’s only a handful of airlines that go to these lengths, it’s great to see SAS creating some innovative dishes and an original meal concept.
