Finnair meals on domestic flights within Finland and Europe can be purchased from the Finnair Sky bistro menu. Economy class passengers on European flights can also pre-order a meal from a range of pre-paid options. On long-haul services, meals are still included in the price of your ticket.

All economy class passengers flying on Finnair services within Europe receive complimentary tea, coffee or blueberry juice. For food options, you can purchase items from the Finnair Nordic Kitchen menu. You can also upgrade your inflight meal and pre-order from a wide range of inflight meal options.

Finnair offers a fantastic product for economy class passengers on their European flights; you can enjoy a three-course meal, a seat in the front of the economy class cabin and priority boarding for group two passengers. All you have to do is purchased the seat and meal package for your flight.

You will be able to select one of the following meals for your flight also:

Fish Meal of grilled salmon with potatoes, hollandaise sauce and asparagus. Also includes crayfish tails with dill scordalia and a strawberry pie.

Meat Meal of beef brisket, dark mushroom sauce and potato gratin. Served alongside a smoked salmon with beetroot mayonnaise and a strawberry pie.

Vegetarian Meal of barley and mushroom risotto with parmesan cheese. A side salad of lentils and a strawberry pie.

Brunch with bubbles is a potato rosti boat with quark-cheese filling, chicken and spinach. It also includes cheese, cold cuts and rye roll and a fruit salad. It’s also served with champagne or a drink of your choice.

It’s possible to pre-order meals on most Finnair flights, and these are generally of a higher standard than regular economy class meals. Upgrade meals on long haul routes will be similar to business class meals and include silverware as well as being served on porcelain dishes.

You can upgrade your inflight meal on the following Finnair flights:

Asia: Bangkok, Chongqing, Fukuoka, Goa, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh City, Krabi, Nagoya, Phuket, Singapore, Xi’an

North America: Chicago, Havana, Miami, New York, Puerto Plata, Puerto Vallarta

Upgraded pre-order meals must be ordered at least 24 hours before departure on flights departing from Helsinki.

Meals on long haul routes are still free on Finnair, depending on your flight time you will receive one or two meal services. Additional snacks, as well as alcoholic drinks, can be purchased from the inflight menu.

On flights to Bangkok only soft drinks, juice and water are free. Beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages can be purchased.

On flights to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Delhi soft drinks, juices, water, beer and wine are all served free of charge. For anything else, you can purchase it from the inflight menu.

On flights to the USA, your first meal will include soft drinks, juices, water, beer and wine free of charge. After the first meal service, you can purchase additional drinks.


Special meals should be pre-ordered at least 24 hours before departure and are available on all Finnair Intercontinental flights in economy class and Business Class on European and Intercontinental flights.

Special meals that can be ordered include:

Bland Meal, Low Sugar/Fat, Gluten Free, Low calorie, Low cholesterol, Low sodium, Low lactose, Hindu (from Helsinki, Delhi and Goa), Asian Vegetarian, Kosher, Moslem, Children’s’ Meal, Fruit platter (business class only), Raw vegetarian meal (business class only), Seafood Meal (business class only) Vegan, Vegetarian Lacto Ovo and Special Meal.

Business Class passengers on long-haul flights can choose their meal in advance; usually, there will be meat, fish and vegetarian options to choose from. Since September 2019 Finnair has collaborated with Chicago-based Chef David Posey for its newest Signature Menu collaboration. The Nordic-inspired meals will be served in business class on all long-haul flights departing the United States.

Flights from Japan and China feature dishes created by Chefs Rika Maezawa and Steven Liu. Renowned Nordic chefs design the airline meal concepts on flights from Helsinki.

Business Class meal orders must be placed at the latest 24 hours before departure.
