Air Asia meals are not included in the price of your ticket. The airline offers an assortment of meals, drinks and snacks for sale aboard all of their flights. Note that Air Asia Malaysia operated flights (AK) do not sell alcohol. For trips shorter than 75 minutes, hot meals can only be pre-booked online to ensure service consistency.

There are eight different Air Asia subsidiaries within the airline group and nine different inflight menus and pre-order meal programs. So, you must know the flight designation code for your booking, as this will determine what can be ordered.
AK – Air Asia Malaysia
DJ – Air Asia Japan
D7 – Air Asia X (Mainly long haul services)
FD – Air Asia Thailand
I5 – Air Asia India
QZ – Air Asia Indonesia
XJ – Air Asia Thailand
Z2 – Air Asia Phillippines
PRE ORDER
Pre-order inflight meals can be purchased online (at a discount) or during your flight depending on the flight time. You can pre-order your meal at the time of booking, but they must be ordered at least 24 hours before departure. It’s even possible to order some meals up to 4 hours before departure, but this is generally limited to Air Asia (AK) flights.

What About Changes to Pre Booked Meals?
If you need to make changes to pre-booked meals, this can only be done more than 24 hours before flight departure time. Passengers will have to pay the price difference if the price of the new meal booked is higher than the original meal paid.

What do I do Onboard?
Ensure that you keep your boarding pass, as this will have a special meal code on it. The cabin crew will ask to see it when they deliver your meal to you.
SPECIAL MEALS
All Air Asia meals are classified as HALAL except if you are flying on AirAsia Japan (DJ) and AirAsia Philippines (Z2) operated flights.
There are no specific special meals that can be pre-ordered such as Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher etc. However, there are vegetarian options available to pre-order.
