Qantas meals are complimentary to all customers travelling on a Qantas operated service. The airline has worked with chef Neil Perry since 1997 to create inflight dishes.

Qantas is now offering a more restaurant-style meal service on international flights. After take-off, passengers will be served a signature welcome drink and restaurant-style dining service will follow. The traditional inflight meal tray has been removed to make way for a simpler and larger inflight meal offering. You’ll have a choice of up to three inflight meal choices served with butter infused bread, a dessert and drink of your choice.
Everyone is offered complimentary inflight dining and refreshments, depending on the time of day you travel and the duration of the flight.
Your flight departure time will dictate what will be served. Refreshments are served on short flights such as Melbourne to Canberra and Sydney to Canberra. Lunch options will include pies, pastries or sandwiches, while dinner services will consist of a hot dinner box option or salad.
From 5 am to 8.59am – Breakfast box
From 9 am to 11.59am – Refreshment service
From 12 pm to 1.30 pm – Lunch service
From 1.31 pm to 5.29 pm – Refreshment service
From 5.30 pm to 8 pm – Dinner box
From 8.01 pm until 4.59 am – Refreshment service
Qantaslink offers complimentary alcohol on all services after 4 pm. However, Qantaslink Boeing 717, F100 and A320 services have a paid bar service only. The cost of wine and beer is $6.00.
Wine and beer are free on all flights to Perth from major capital cities after 12 pm, from Adelaide/Brisbane/Canberra/Melbourne and Sydney after 4 pm as well as Canberra and Adelaide/Brisbane/Melbourne/Sydney after 4 pm.
Menu Select is a pre-order meal service available on selected international flights for Business, Premium Economy and Economy class passengers. You can pre-order your meal from a range of dishes either via the Qantas App or at the manage my booking function on the Qantas website.
How do you order? Just retrieve your booking through the ‘Manage Your Booking‘ function and pre-order your meal up to 12 hours before departure, but not before seven days.
Special meals on Qantas flights can be ordered up to 24 hours before departure; however, Kosher meals must be requested at least 36 hours before departure. When travelling on a domestic economy flight where only refreshments or supper is served, it’s not possible to order a special meal.
Special meals available for order include Diabetic, Child’s meal, Fruit Platter, Gluten Intolerance, Hindu, Infant, Kosher Meal, Moslem (Halal), Vegetarian (Asian Indian Style), Vegetarian (Lacto-Ovo), Vegetarian (Oriental), Vegetarian (Strict Indian) and Vegan meals.
