The airline is no longer providing substantial meals on flights as a temporary measure due to the Coronavirus. Note that tea, coffee, juice and complimentary happy hour drinks in economy class will not be offered. Instead, passengers will receive bottled water and a snack.

Virgin Australia provides passengers with a range of inflight meals and snacks depending on your flight time.
Australia Domestic Routes
On most Australian domestic flights complimentary snacks will be provided, as well as tea, coffee and water. Additional items can be purchased from the inflight menu found ici.
A selection of complimentary beer, cider and wine is available on capital city flights within Australia that have a scheduled departure time between 5 pm and 7 pm, Monday to Friday.
Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane to Perth v.v.
These flights offer complimentary hot meals including beer, wine and soft drinks.
International Short Haul
International short-haul routes have a similar inflight service offering to the above Perth flights. You can choose from a range of hot meals, fresh salads and snacks. Complimentary beer, red/white wine and soft drinks are served with main meals, and tea, coffee, juice and water are available throughout the flight
There is no possibility to order a special meal on domestic Australia and short-haul international services, however, you can purchase vegetarian and gluten-free options.
The following 19 special meals can be ordered for long haul flights only:
Baby Meal, Bland Meal, Child’s Meal, Diabetic Meal, Low Gluten Meal, Low Fat/Low Cholesterol Meal, Asian Vegetarian Meal, Vegetarian Vegan Meal, Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian Meal, Kosher Meal, Hindu Meal, Muslim Meal, Low Salt, Low Lactose, Fruit Platter Meal, Low-Calorie Meal, Seafood Meal, Vegetarian Jain Meal and Raw Vegetable Meal.
