Finnair invited me to spend some time with them in Helsinki recently. It was an excellent opportunity to catch up on the Finnair pre-order meal range and get a taste of what’s being served inflight.

In 2013, the airline started selling pre-order meals to customers in economy class wishing to eat something a little more substantial on flights across Europe.

HOW TO ORDER

Meals can be booked at the time of making your reservation, or you can always head over to their website at least 72 hours before your flight and place your order.

The meals cost €10 each, and you can choose from: Salmon Salad, Enchilada with Tomato Sauce, Beef Burgundy, Pasta Bolognese and Chicken Korma.

WHAT DID I ORDER?

The Salmon Salad.

WHAT WAS GOOD

It felt like there was about half a kilo of salmon in this salad.  The quality and quantity of the salmon were fantastic, and the meal itself is quite a large portion.

TAKE NOTE

You can only order these meals on scheduled flights operated by Finnair or Flybe within Europe, excluding flights within Finland, and to or from Stockholm, St. Petersburg, Dubai, Canary Islands, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, and flights from Madrid to Helsinki.
