Instagram post 17862307762593563 Jakarta to Melbourne 🇦🇺 today in economy class with Garuda! First time flying with them, nice experience and ok food. Flight left at 2am so first service was quite basic, pictured is the second meal service on this 6 hour and 10 minute flight. Choice of an omelette or fish with rice. Loved the fish, great spices and tasty. A standard economy class meal, nothing exciting but not bad either. Great service from the crew, amenity kits, welcome water, refresher towel and real cutlery part of the service. I can't believe the crew do this as a return flight from Jakarta, that's a very long day for them. 😵 #inflightfeed #planefood #economyclass #garudaindonesia #garuda #airlinefood #airplanefood
Instagram post 17873151253506803 Today was a fun day. Tried out the new @citilink dining experience from Jakarta to Bali. For an extra $40 you get to choose from a range of quality inflight meals. They meet and greet you, you get priority boarding, your own transport to the aircraft and some other benefits. For a low cost airline experience it was certainly memorable. The food was delicious. Probably the tastiest I've eaten this week. I ordered the beef rendang with egg balado and kapau vegetables and a chicken salad. First four photos are from the Taipei to Jakarta route and the rest are in service order from start to finish from Bangkok to Taipei. Overall a wonderful experience with great food on all sectors and attentive service from the crew. Everything was consistent on all flights. Pictured honey glazed chicken with sesame, it was sweet, salty and my favorite dish out of the two mains. The smoked salmon starter was delicious and the mascarpone vanilla cake with fruit was a lovely light dessert. On the previous flight I enjoyed the entree of prawn stuffed with shrimp roes, I wasn't sure about the stir beef fillet with X.O sauce but I loved the dessert plate especially the sticky rice with mango dessert. Instagram post 17852212531701991 Hello from 35,000ft! 👈 Swipe. I'm currently on Qatar Airways flight 832 bound for Bangkok. I started my journey in Helsinki and had a quick transit in Doha. I've loved every minute flying with Qatar, seats are great, staff are fantastic and so professional. Disappointed with the hot meals though. I ordered a vegan meal for the first sector and it was so bland, is that what all vegan airline meals are like? On this sector it was a breakfast service followed by a quick snack service. The eggs were tasteless and the only decent tasting item was the sausage. I didn't expect the hot meals to be so average. There are of course nice touches such as focaccia bread in economy class, proper cutlery and ample fresh side dishes. Biodegradable cutlery will form part of the concept from December. It's a fun unboxing experience with condiments of carrot sprinklings and a dill emulsion. The salad of veal with steam carrots and cucumber with dill cream was fresh, served chilled and delicious. It's great to be able to read a little story about where your food comes from. Such a well designed inflight concept, compact and practical. Cost for pre order was CHF11. Just flew in from Lisbon. 👈 Swipe to check out Portuguese airline TAP and their new economy class service which launched on 27 October on flights within Europe. Depending on your fare type you'll either get a hot meal or snack. I purchased an economy extra fare for today's flight which has spacious seats in the red zone with 33'' legroom. (It was about $30 for this fare) If you purchase an economy fare you'll get 28'' legroom in the green zone and a choice of two snacks. Swipe thru to check out the new snacks available in economy class. I also visited the lounge in Lisbon and took some food shots. Great experience, ok meal, heaps of leg room and friendly crew.
