Tap Portugal meals aim to showcase the flavors and tastes of Portugal for all passengers to experience. The airline is one of only a few in Europe who still offer complimentary meals, even in economy class! Check below to see what might be offered on your next flight.


Passengers on most flights will be served either a hot meal, cold light meal, cold meal or snack. On flights between Lisbon and Faro/Porto, there is no service at all whilst on flights to Madeira and the Azores hot meal or cold meal will be offered.

Meal Times

12am – 11.59pm – Snack. France, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Denmark

12am – 11.59pm – Cold snack. Finland, Poland, Russia

12am – 9.29am – Hot breakfast.
9.30am – 6.59pm – Lunch.
7pm – 11.59pm – Dinner.

The Americas

Long haul

09:30 – 14:00 – Lunch & Snack.
21:00 – 09:29 – Dinner & Breakfast.
Later than 22:25 – Supper & Breakfast


The following special meals can be ordered on Tap Portugal flights. They include: Asian vegetarian, Baby Meal, Child Meal, Bland, Diabetic, Fruit, Gluten Free, Hindu Meal, Kosher, Low Calorie, Low Fat, Low Salt, Muslim, Lactose Free, Seafood, Vegetarian, Vegetarian with diary, Special Meal

The above special meals can be ordered on all intercontinental Tap Portugal flights. However special meals are not available on domestic flights, flights to and from Morocco or European flights lasting less than four hours.

Choose your meal
Business class passengers can now pre order their meal before their flight. A choice of  3 meals such as meat, fish or pasta dishes are available for pre order. Meal pre-ordering is available in business class cabin on long-haul flights departing Lisbon, on flights operated by TAP.

Meals can be pre-ordered from 7 days prior to the flight date to at least 24 hours prior to departure.

The airline offers typical Portuguese dishes prepared fresh and designed by Chef Vitor Sobral. There are new soups to sample on long haul flights and new Portuguese desserts to finish off your meal. A new breakfast offering cold cuts and various cheeses, fruits and yoghurt are currently being offered on long haul services also.
