Review: Thomson/TUI Airways Short Haul

Thomson/TUI inflight meal

A quick hop from London to Madeira with Thomson allowed me to test out the latest inflight meals available. Thomson is a charter/leisure airline that is part of the TUI Group; they include meals on all long-haul flights (7 hours or more) however on trips across Europe passengers can purchase a range of meals onboard.

THE MENU

The current inflight menu can be viewed hereInflight meal options include pasta, chunky chips, five different snack boxes and a range of toasted/fresh sandwiches. For an airline buy onboard menu program there’s a good range of food options available.

The flight from London to Madeira left Gatwick at around 9 am and I opted for the bacon ciabatta roll and the afternoon tea snack box.

The afternoon snack box was £4.00 and included a fresh scone, clotted cream, gourmet Bonne Maman jam, chocolate from Monty Bojangles and Marshfield caramel shortbread. The bacon ciabatta was the same price and was delicious.

On the flight from Maderia to London, the usual inflight offerings were announced over the PA and the cabin crew mentioned they had fish and chips on this flight.

The beer-battered fish and chips were good, the quantity was a little small but for only £4.00 I can’t complain.
